What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device by
websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or
work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
We use cookies to store certain information such as searches and presenting personalized
content.
A number of websites provide detailed information on cookies, including AboutCookies.org,
AllAboutCookies.org,

on browser cookies.
What types of cookies does IMFA use?
There are different types of cookies that assist IMFA so that we can provide our
users with the best experience possible. To achieve this, we use a combination of
first-party and third- party cookies. First-party cookies are IMFA cookies and can
be of any of the types listed below. Third-party cookies are placed on a user’s
browsing device by a third party.
Types of cookies we utilize:
- Session Navigation Cookies: these are first-party or IMFA cookies that provide a
smooth user experience while navigating the websites we host. These cookies can
authenticate a return user each time he or she enters a secure area of the site.
- Analytics Cookies: these are third-party cookies that provide metrics on how users
use the websites we host. We use these to identify how we can improve user experience
or identify issues while utilizing our services.
- Tracking Cookies: these cookies are used to track users who come to our site from
a source who suggests us to their users.
How long will cookies stay on the device?
In terms of duration, there are two types of cookies: persistent and session based.
Persistent Cookies: Persistent cookies stay on the user’s browsing device
until the user clears them or until they reach their expiration. Persistent cookies
are those that retain information on the user's specific preferences so that we
can provide a “personalized” user experience. Session Cookies: Session cookies
expire and are deleted once the user’s browsing session is complete. These cookies
allow users to navigate to pages within IMFA.com without signing in to each page.
Example cookies used by IMFA
The following lists examples of cookies used by IMFA.
- Session Cookies: ASP.NET_SessionId
- Analytics: _ga (Third-Party Cookies)
How can I control my cookies?
Users can adjust the settings in their browser to receive an alert each time a site
sets a cookie. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies and similar technologies,
but if you prefer, you can change your browser settings to do the following:
- Delete all cookies
- Block all cookies
- Allow all cookies
- Block third-party cookies
- Clear all cookies when you close the browser
- Open a 'private browsing' / 'incognito' session, which allows you to browse the
internet without storing local data; and
- Install add-ons and plug-ins to extend browser functionality.
Google has developed a browser add-on to allow users to opt-out of Google Analytics
across all websites which use this popular analytics product.
